- Brief
First of all, through the introduction, I chose inequality as the theme, and the theme of my project is education inequality.
1.Inspiration and purpose
With the rapid development of China, the process of urbanization in China is also accelerating, and urbanization is an important symbol of modernization. During urbanization, the society must be transformed from a rural-based society to an urban-based organisation. As a result, population mobility will inevitably occur. China’s “reform and opening policy” has promoted the economic development of some cities, which has led to a large-scale migration of people from rural to urban areas. Therefore, millions of people have immigrated to cities for higher incomes, so many young children are left in poor rural areas. These children are often referred to as “left-behind children” (LBC) (Fan, 2009.p.3).
2.THE BACKGROUND
So I investigated the social background and found that there is a big gap between the educational resources of children in poor mountainous areas and those in urban areas. According to the survey data (China Education Statistical Yearbook, 2016), I found a large gap between urban and rural teachers’ educational background and composition structure in education.
3.QUESTIONAIRE AND INTEVIEW
Based on determining the background, the author has conducted a questionnaire survey on the teachers who have supported education. The distribution of surveys and questionnaires makes them particularly useful for screening information from many people (Preece, 2002). According to the survey results, the mountainous areas where they live lack educational equipment, high-quality teachers, and scientific information that keep pace. In addition, students are most interested in scientific knowledge, but the lack of educational resources limits them. At the same time, some students who lack parents’ company often feel lonely, low self-esteem and social barriers.
4.USER ANALYSIS
Finally, the i sorts out and analyzes the user needs in terms of the learning experience, emotional needs and using needs.
5.Persona
I made the persona. Persona can help me find user needs more clearly, and help me decide how to provide services.
7.Wireframe and prototype test
In the wireframe, I designed the following functions
A. Space course and introduction, including rocket construction, solar system, other galaxies
In rocket construction, students can see the rocket construction, and then they need to answer questions. If they answer correctly, they can launch rockets into the solar system, and they can see the information of all the planets in the solar system.
B. Teacher background management system
- We can see the students’ learning time
- The record of each student
- Curriculum
C. History of human space exploration
After prototype testing, I got the following feedback - Some interaction points are too high for children to touch
- Space course content is not enough
- Interface design can be more childlike
